Roaring Rivers

Torrents, currents, and ripples by Christyl Rivers, PhD

Will we wake up when the top stops spinning?

Here is a spinning top, much like that from the movie, Inception, starring Elliot Page (formerly Ellen Page) as Ariadne. Inception was nominated for four Oscars in 2010.

Ariadne’s roll, (Page’s) is to design the setting for stolen dreams. She creates a maze, and like Ariadne from the Greek myth of the Minotaur of the kingdom of Minos, she must also navigate this bizarre setting herself.

But isn’t this the easy part? The movie role?

Elliot Page now has a best-selling book out about his transition from another god-based figure in one of her roles, Juno, who happens to be pregnant. Playing a sixteen year old, clever kid, Juno is no goddess. But she is citric sharp and colorful as an orange Tic-Tac.

Everything about Page prompts new questions

Now Page has a new book out: Pageboy.
