Coffee picking and cherry picking

Known best for touting the Big Lie and cherry-picking data about the “Great Replacement theory”, Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News.

You probably already know that.

The above photo is likely from the Big Island, Hawaii. It’s in the coffee region. Farm laborers toil there. I lived nearby.

One hundred-plus years ago, mostly Japanese farmers bought the coffee plantations. Mostly Mexican and South American workers do the farm labor there. Mostly, rich investors from foreign parts and the USA mainland own it now.

Maybe Tucker Carlson helped those Trumpeteers with the pitchforks and torches drive the immigrants out?

No. It is because the climate and environmental disturbance have made most coffee non-profitable in the area. Giant companies can farm Kona coffee, but small farmers and farm workers, mostly immigrants, have moved on to other crops and other farms.
