Agree, mostly. But humans can’t do things (even bad things, like holocausts) unless they are framed as for the greater good. We have to always pretend to be unselfish, as in manifest destiny for the ‘greatest nation.’

But being selfless, such as WWII, the moon shot, civil rights, suffrage, etc. helps people sacrifice for meaningful good. We must reframe the fight to say humanity is unlikely to go extinct, but others already have.

Those of us left need the biosphere to support life. Quality life. Our life. All life.
