As an undergraduate, I rejected a guy I went out with twice. Months later, he stalked and broke into apt. about 2 am, on a night that my new boyfriend, (extremely rare event) was present. I woke up to rejected jerk leaning over me, then he lifted the heavy lamp beside me and struck me over the head. When I came to, my boyfriend had been stabbed in the CHEST. I was merely treated for concussion. I am lucky, but forever less trusting, and more brave. (If you can’t be safe in your own bed and home, you are safe nowhere, so I had to choose complete courage walking through the world, rather than be a victim.)
These kind of attacks hurt men, too, They hurt us all.
