At sunset one day, we watched two children gleefully burst out of a McDonald's and right into oncoming traffic. They were so playful they "danced" across three times.

I watched one die, dragged under the left front wheel of a gigantic Silverado.

The little "play" contained every single element of our broken world. I can never forget it.
