Defensiveness is normal human behavior. It takes brave effort for people to truly listen. My partner and I have four parents (two each) 3 out of the 4 were not born in America. They DO not take responsibility, nor would they recognize the sins of their forebears. And even those born in USA don't see the very air we breathe.
