Take the red pill. No! Take the blue one.

Just over a week ago, people everywhere were grieving the loss of democracy in America. Polls were paralyzed. Pundits were reproachful. Late-night comedians were condemning.

Or… all was happy and bright because a red light of a new red dawn red pill America was about to be swallowed by everyone who would take their medicine …and like it.

Similarly, I read articles every day about how the end of the world will kill us all, or, being a “doomer” will kill us all, or, being too positive will kill us all. Complacency will kill us all.

Or, you know, stuff is going to kill us all because we are stupid and deserve it.

It’s all true.

Truth lays around on the window seat

All of these things are simultaneously true, because truth spends her time, not in one extreme or the other, but luxuriating in the warm glow in between overly-excited and anxious people who really do want a better world. We just…
