Boys will be noise
Let’s face it, racism and sexism are an enormous energy suck and waste of human time. It’s time to stop talking about identity, right? Let’s just act more justice-like about it.
Correct.
But, let the conversation continue!
The rabble makes noise, and we who wish to preserve civility and sanity, must also raise voices.
Most discussions about either topic are ninety percent “How so and so is so racist/sexist, and I am not!” Or, it’s transsexuals', biracial twin: “Society really isn’t so bigoted anymore, it’s your fixation on it that continues the problem.”
Sigh.
Like all truth, it’s everywhere and nowhere.
Like all of our attention, it’s on the wrong thing.
No contest
But why say our fights over sex are more important than our fights over race?
They are not. But they are just as important. Just more ignored. Expected. Accepted.
