Tweak what you believe

You may have heard that the world’s problems are overwhelming. Or, it’s too late to solve many of them. Particularly the heating of the planet, loss of biodiversity, and government systems that face authoritarianism are worrying.

It’s normal to worry. It’s natural to express it. To deny it is dangerous. But, what about solving it?

Let’s start with an extremely useful quote by Mahatma Gandhi

First, they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

On its surface, it’s a simple quote. But think about the churning tides of history, those points where a common idea changed everything.

Let’s look at biology and evolution itself. First, the Darwin and Wallace’s theory of natural selection was ignored.

It is common knowledge that God made the world in seven days, why waste my time (or even my soul) with this stupid new idea?
