Art theft and crimes of creativity

Art comes from the word “artifice.” An art is the work by a human being that studies nature and finds a way to replicate something that moves us. It is workmanship, but not by nature’s hand. It’s Artificial.

It could be drawing, a song, an essay, a play, a sculpture, or even The “Art of the Steal.” As in, come on people, Stop the steal!

There is a difference between being artistic and being artful, as in an “artful dodger” being full of creative trickery.

People are suddenly, and rightfully disturbed, that AI seems to be a third kind of “art, or artifice.” Creative work can be copied, spread, sold, and even built upon.

People are afraid that AI is gonna take our jobs.

And, it is true that the power of AI is growing each and every day. It’s going to take some jobs. Tap into some emotions. Spread some propaganda. Diminish some voices. Sell us crap. Most of all, it’s going to distract us from our…
