What became of Prince Harry, and Prince William’s, mother, Princess Diana, is a man-made tragedy. By having our tiny attention spans and gossip-hungry hearts always palpitating for drama and scandal, we killed her.

One could also say that it was the greedy press, out to service our media addictions, that drove the fleeing Diana into the death tunnel. Or, what makes most people more comfortable is to have a more palatable scapegoat — the tipsy cab driver.

The real killers were racism and sexism.

Princess Diana was the chosen, fair, and flawless virgin chosen to breed more royalty. She did her duty, but then was unceremoniously dumped because Prince Charles already loved his original true love (who had been deemed not as young, flawless, or virginal.) Diana turned elsewhere for love and acceptance.

After Diana’s divorce, she had two boyfriends, Hasnat Kahn, and Al Fayed, (known as Dodi.) It is often forgotten that Dodi, whose diamond heavy ring she was wearing in…
