Special rules for Trans people will rule out justice

Every marginalized group fights to have equal rights. They do not want “special” rights. They do not want different rights. They do not want exceptions made on their behalf. This is even true for special needs people who sometimes should want some equalizing provisions, but they typically do not.

If children are identifying as cats in classrooms and demanding litter boxes, why should we think they are not describing themselves as very special (indeed!) and insistent upon unique privileges?

There are two reasons:

#1. No people have asked for this.

#2. This is a dog whistle to disparage cats.

Too much shame makes us lame, a bit of shame makes us human
