Ecopsychologists see absolutely no issue as separate. At least on Earth.

What does race have to do with forest fires? Everything. What does gender equality have to do with water shortages? Everything.

In nature everything is connected to everything else. When we invent something as stupid and self-destructive as a “separate human race”, we essentially invent Us versus Them. The same is true of gender and sex.

People talk about a civil war in America. There is talk of nuclear, or World War III, too. This would be us giving up, not just on our nation, but giving up on our world which is already in great, great peril.

The next plague, next major storms, floods and fires, should constantly remind us that uniting as a species is wise. And essential. Beautiful.

All people, even all mammals, have more in common than not. All animals that breathe air, depend on soil and water, have the most important things in existence in common.

We psychologically, and largely unconsciously, separate and try to categorize who is with us and who is against us. This served well as we evolved, but now science and reason show that we have to actively override our divisive tendencies.
