Extremely interesting. As an Ecopsychologist, I believe that human beings evolved with nature and a need for belonging. The monotheists made a huge dent in this, not seeing God everywhere, but “above us”. There is something greater than us, and many people from Darwin to Dawkins acknowledge this, as our innate need for spirituality. Religion messes it up. We are part of nature, but having moved indoors we have lost the connection to what I call Spinoza’s God. Einstein believed that our belonging is linked to nature, as well. His spirituality, (if you will) consisted of displaying that delusional humans need to reconnect to nature and to widen the circle of compassion.
On a beautiful day we do feel a spirituality, that is our natural earthly evolved belonging to this planet. If we can reclaim our natural spirituality, it may not be too late to protect nature and, thereby, ourselves.
