Hurricane Helene is launching many ships and boats
And further storms are coming, let’s see what sinks or floats

There is no climate haven, but on any given day
Your planet supports more life than any other getaway

If you can’t buy insurance, you can’t afford a rocket ship
To Mars, or stars, or anywhere, would be a one-way trip

Maybe, instead, we could be grateful to our planet
Maybe hold up the world, rather than see it plummet

HECC is Human Emissions Climate Catastrophe:
Abbreviate as HECC

Hell is a place where bright flowers born this year
burn, or drown, or simply wilt — and disappear

Helen is Leda’s baby, Milton Wrote Paradise Lost
We’re poets of tomorrow, what we keep, and what is tossed
