I agree the world is changing, so data is changing too. One important point is that some men (and some women) do not see the emotional labor, so have no idea the other is doing it. Traditionally, women (my mother well into her 80's) was called upon to remember the birthdays, dinners, phone calls etc. Not just during the narrow window of young children times.
I think women still tend to do most of the drudge/tasks while men (generally) are freed up to set up recreational things, bikes, boats, camp gear, etc. However if the women are also working during the set up, they too, are doing emotional labor. Thanks for your input, Tim
