It’s A Yahoo Friday

We lived in Hawaii too long, we wanted to take ALOHA Friday and adapt it for the Pacific Northwest

Take it down a notch you workaholics!

On Friday, you are supposed to slow down. You are supposed to quiet quit. You are a human being, not a machine. You may need to self-medicate with a joint or a drink. It’s time to interact with social beings.

In Hawaii it is an absolute tradition to take half of Friday off (except it’s changing into greed and toil) People are social. Schools understand that the kids are alright and they just wanna be free. So Friday is usually a half day. I worked in schools, it’s a great tradition.

Where we now live the weather is warming (too warm, really, CC!) but people are “hard-working Murcan yahoos” who seldom slow down. I see people who never put down their phones to check in with physical reality.

So we try to create “ A Yahoo Friday” to replace our lost culture from Hawaii.

Here on the mainland, where we now live, ALOHA Friday is not a tradition. People are not on “island time” and are taking off to hit the surf. Our values are messed up. I wonder if it is due to no discipline on the part of those who don’t understand the need for self-care or if it is due to the pace we are creating with online-all-the-time and hustle, hassle culture.

You tell me.

It’s A Yahoo Friday here in the PNW and I have too much work to do. So, sorry, now I have to go or we won’t have time for a drink at sundown.

Pease clap, comment, or follow me, I truly appreciate it
