It’s a Yahoo Friday…
We are farmers in a hick town just wanting to shrug off a hard week, kick back and relax.
Aloha Friday has now become A Yahoo Friday.
Here, in the PNW, we have tweaked a wonderful tradition of Aloha Friday to become A Yahoo Friday.
When we lived in Hawaii, all people everywhere, all Aina, (people of the land) were compelled to take off of work early and do some serious chillaxin. With drinks. Music. Sitting around and talking story.
This is called Aloha Friday over there. It’s the day people most often wear Aloha shirts to work. Here, it is soft flannel and glazed looks.
Here, we have to be non-conformists to take some time away
Here, there is a greater urgency to be productive, work for work’s sake. Pay those bills. Spin that hamster wheel until you are dizzy.
We are both working about three jobs each. Building a new home is a major job . This morning I get my writing turned in. This afternoon I go to town for groceries…
