It’s Thursday, Cancer Check Up, And Library Day
Our lives are constantly at an intersection of grand and bland
Roaring Rivers
Torrents, currents, and ripples by Christyl Rivers, PhD.
Our favorite driving to the far off library song is Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen.
We got stuff to do.
Crank up the car stereo and steer the Honda.
Time to head into town and listen to the surgeon tell me to just be more patient.
After that, we go to the library for the latest Naomi Klein and Keren Etkin.
Then, groceries, and shopping for house junk that we need. Plants, maybe even a tree whose shade will outlive us. Perennial wild flowers, to feed the birds and bees.
You have stuff to do!!
On any given day, you will see people out shopping for wedding reception ideas, pet vet visits, a feud with the parents, finding a new apartment, getting ready for some kind of school event…
Everything under the ignored sun.
We are all on missions of ten thousand tasks that take all of us down the path to death in the end.
