Leaving That Message Can Kill You

Human beings evolved to see and talk together. We don’t do this, anymore

Has this ever happened to you?

The message that never was received, has cost my family about $46,000. So far. That is, if we had known he had attempted to leave the message, we would have contacted him directly, immediately, and that contractor would not only know we still cared, but that, we too, were very concerned about moving forward with the job.

Instead, likely annoyed that he perceived he was being ghosted, the independent contractor vanished like a miffed whiff of wind. He didn’t know we were out of cell range. That was two years ago.

We will never know if he got, or did not receive, our later texts, messages, frantic hand-written letters, or third-hand relayed information.

The job was a service involved in construction. Construction, necessarily, involves the county, the lender, the data, the architect, the map, changing time zones, cell coverage, and much, much more.
