Living In Hawaii “Post” Plague
It’s outdoor living, with masks still mandatory, and few deaths
Non-island people are dangerous
We hear that there are many places where masks are no longer required. We even hear that some places refuse to allow private and public places to require masks. No choice, or maybe public scorn.
We hear culture wars infect people even more readily than virus, even while BA. 2 is stealthily taking lives.
Germs, I guess, are more liberated than people.
Having been in Hawaii off and on for the past three years, we are about as healthy as we have ever been. We credit less pathogen swapping.
Life here has plenty of free air flow.
“HA” (as in Hawaii and AloHA) means breath of ocean/mountain. It also means human breath, and spirit.
This HA has saved many lives. It is outdoor living with lots of ocean and mountain breezes.
We also have great respect, cooperation — Kokua — with our aloha spirit. People did not dream of ignoring mask requirements here. It’s only an hour of two in the store, anyway.
As a result, without crowding together, without swapping pathogens, and without conflict, and with refreshing fresh air…
