Many in my family told our dying mom to "let go and be in a better place." This is terrible. They also scold we (who don't know) for not being happy we will "see her later." This too, is terrible.

This is why some atheists object to some obnoxious believers: they are devoid of true compassion and open minds.

That said, no kind of evangelism is good because people need to deeply grapple with what they believe is true.
