Most scientists and climate activists are not in a panic, but in “let’s get some attention to this” mode. If anything, there is not enough alarm. There are more people watching ball games than going to climate protests. There are more people off the street than in the street. There are more people consuming than working to consume less. There are more people working to protect corporate polluters/bias media, etc. than opposing them.

The sixth extinction we are in should be of much greater public knowledge, and people also need to feel inspired and empowered, in order to reform.

Your article is thoughtful and your approach to investigate is admirable, keep looking into the whole picture: inequality, tech investment, Ecopsychology, 6th extinction, and everything that depends upon Nature’s ability to balance.
