most who write about climate are not making predictions, but warning of what could happen. All of science is in flow, changing--like life on Earth. Malthus is not wrong when more people do starve, but a prediction is not a past event. Sagan was not wrong when comparing heaven and hell to Venus and Mars, they are outcomes of what did happen in environment.

As to pollution ad the Sixth Extinction, it really does nothing good for our species, and you seem to avoid those facts.
