No Genocide On Either Side
War and inequality, is the answer blowing in the wind?
No genocide on either side. Is it hard to understand?
No genocide on either side: why burnt Earth as our brand?
Death feels like full heart treason. What could it be, what is the reason?
Is it human nature? Is it destiny? Why this fatal feature? Unthinking zealotry?
Bombs dropped from a distance lack personal agency
Drones and rockets — instant — keep hands, and minds stain free
There is a tidy profit to chest thumping for one’s side
Therefore, one could posit, pirates rush the blood-red tide
We found each other’s colors — quite recently, crossed shores,
But now all ships see “others” must be out to take what’s “ours”
We placed our stories center. That’s why there’s genocide
We forgot humble ancestors never sought “a side.”
We share a disconnection — despite Earth’s dashing spin —
Forgot we’re all Creation. Forgot we all are kin.
Sapiens is but thin facade of what just one world can share
Forgot that living breath is God that moves through us, as air.
