Roaring Rivers

Torrents, currents, and ripples by Christyl Rivers, PhD

Albatross. Again. I truly believe these birds can transform your everyday experience of everyday things into an inspiration to live.

A plastic life is artificial and unsustainable

This story is about empowerment. Some will say its purpose is to scold, shame, or make you feel guilty, but that is not by intent.

Or whatever intent there is here, it isn’t as much about blame as you may think. It’s about birds. Beauty. Loss. Grief. Elegance and grace.

Talking about climate catastrophe without noting how each of us contributes to it — especially in the all-consuming West — is not realistic.

If you brush your teeth, own a device, buy packaged food, drink beverages, have ever used a disposable lighter, or have bought clothes in the last decade, then sadly, you are part of the death cult.

If you have any other bits of millions and millions of pieces of plastic pass through your hands, or your life, just take a minute to wonder if we all might truly deserve a nicer world.
