Plenty of republican men identify as feminist. Plenty of right wing women do too. Using the dictionary definition works best, if you assess yourself to be for equality, you probably are for equality. If one were to ask N Haley if she is for the dictionary definition, she would be one who claims "for" equality, but works against it.
