Police work should not be combat, it should be de-escalation. If I were trained with hundreds (if needed) of hours in how to keep guns out of the situation entirely, I think it would help me be a better cop and manager of tension.

As to wounding, it’s as a last resort, only. People should not be learning to lethally hurt a person (torso) if the perps are unarmed, or holding only a cell phone, etc.

Too many people are killed instead of wounded, which in itself, should be very, very rare. Protect and serve, yeah?

Thanks for your service, BTW
