Be a patriot

It is a well, and often repeated truth of history that we can’t learn from the truth of history.

Why is this so? I would like to posit that it is not always so. It’s jut that when we do network, innovate, collaborate, and cooperate with each other, there is not so many stormy waves on the sea, (so to speak) so we don’t notice our smooth sailing.

When one person finds the secret to power is finding scapegoats, be they: barbarians, witches, heretics, monarchy, immigrants, LBGTQ, a whole new “race” of people, or politically convenient enemies, the marginalized will be thrown overboard. The leader has a clear advantage to win hearts and minds through telling followers only they truly belong.

People will flock to devote all their energy to the powerful dictator types. There are good reasons. He (usually) speaks with confidence, assurance, powerful rhetoric. He tells you that you are a good person. You are a patriot. You belong. You are being attacked, victimized. You need my help. You just need to eradicate all these many parasites, or invaders.
