Several TED talks on the “Us” and Wikipedia can help define the word. No matter what you call your child, if you hope for fairness and equality you are on the side of feminism. Maybe it’s more politicized (s?) in the UK?

As to polar positions, I am a scientist as are colleagues, and we do not think in binary terms to the degree as many do. Being a strong person requires no coddling, but fairness, whether male or female. I think so long as you are fair, and do not lump other beings into “They” or “Those People” you, (and all of us together) are doing well.
