Should police use lethal force when they could "shoot the foot," or be trained to deescalate? Do police help people feel less stressed, less threatened. Do police have mental health training enough to not intimidate, or escalate?

My boyfriend was stabbed in the chest. Actually, stabbed, (not milliseconds away) If police acted as you say, the mentally ill man would be dead.

We would have to live with that, forever: a much bigger hole in the chest.
