Thanks. To quibble, Historically, dead people without children did not reproduce so we have only eight, rather than 20 billion. I would like to know more of what you mean by being soft. If it is dependent upon tech, I agree. Most generations past did not worry about climate crisis or social isolation because cooperation demanded their actual interaction to create food. I find it all very fascinating, whether or not we have it 'easier' because inequality (and death of babies) was accepted as a natural order. Most people were capable of believing in religion. etc.
