These are people who are not having their emotional needs met. They are also conditioned to “never” have their Emo needs met. They need an actual therapist to help show them empowerment to define small steps that fulfill their needs, usually reciprocal listening with (not the therapist) someone invested, some who loves them and wants to plow through rather than wallow.

I have found that ecopsychology, listening among nature with a partner, helps.
