Very Unpopular Strong Opinions Blog by Christyl Rivers

Clean energy independence was proposed by the Carter administration. It would have prevented so much war, so much devastation.

When you think about Carter, think about a real habitat for humanity, and realize sustainable life on Earth would have been possible. He was not a popular president, due to a hostage crisis and external factors.

He also infamously asked Americans to turn down the thermostat, put on a sweater, and beware of a crisis of confidence. His political enemies seized on this point like locusts and flies in the coming famines and plagues.

He had solar panels put on the white house.

Later, the Reagan administration unceremoniously took the solar panels (infinite energy, low cost, and no rapacious profits, oh my!)off the white house roof. Our world energy leadership died that day, and the costs of the sixth great extinction, climate crisis, unsustainable food and energy, dependence on dictators, and other devastation began in earnest.

Recently, I dreamed that both Jimmy Carter and Rosalyn passed away.

In my dream so much was happening in the world — bad stuff — that no one much noticed.

They are good people. J.C. the second was a scientist, a farmer, and a true Christian and reformer.

If we had listened to his modest wisdom we would be living in a safer world.

When is the best time to plant trees? Or peanuts? Any carbon sequesters? Ten years ago. If not then, the answer is always as soon as possible.
