We want children because we want hope, we are biologically driven to it, socially programmed to it,

(framed as 'freedom') and most importantly, now separated from our belonging to the sustaining planet so we do not see the high price.

When people realize the true cost (when it's too late) of growth, we will truly regret all the suffering created by wiping out the biosphere to fulfill our personal narratives.

Did I want kids? YES,!! but only one--and like you I wanted to smell her head and keep her small...
