Weird coincidence. I was just reading a book about rescue for habitats and species (Rescue Effects). He wrote about corals, animals that literally make reefs, which eventually become rocks. We're all just in transition, animal, vegetable, and mineral so your empathy approach makes perfect sense for all phases.

With some genetic as well as other tweaks, people are trying to rescue corals and their other interdependent ecosystems. It offers hope, but this week I'm trying to have more empathy for the antarctic west ice sheet which will affect all life there before it affects all of us everywhere.
