Roaring Rivers

Torrents, currents, and ripples by Christyl Rivers

Trickle-down rivers of grief

Have some champagne and enjoy the breeze on your yacht. You earned it. You worked hard. You deserve it. You are a go-getter. You are a genius.

Oh. You’re poor? Why haven’t you tried this guaranteed formula for success? Be a passive income earner. Work harder. Be deserving. Be a go-getter. Be smarter.

If you are not entirely distracted trying to get to work, pay your rent, feed your kids, and fight the exhaustion of the madness maze, you may have come across some of the above stunningly insightful words of advice.

Wealth trickles up. If labor did not enrich the rich, we would not have it.

What trickles down? Inadequacy. Misery. Ill-health. Crime.

Shovel it out
